Volkswagen has prepared for the Geneva Motor Show a car that consumes only
0.9 liters per 100 kilometers. The concept model XL1,
will be officially launched next month in Geneva, and will be produced
at its plant in Osnabruck, Germany.
The german car manufacturer will bring out a car market that promises a consumption of less than 1 litre/100 km with an autonomy of 50 miles with zero emissionsand with a low weight (795 kg) and a good aerodynamics.
With these features, the new Volkswagen XL1 can run at a constant speed of 100 km\/h using only 6.2 Kw/ 8.4 HP. The 100% electric, XL1 needs only 0.1 kWh to 1 km. City car has 3,888 mm in length, width and 1,665 mm 1.153 mm height only.
Hybrid propulsion system is composed of a TDI engine 48 horsepower and an electrical unit that delivers 27 horsepower. Power is transmitted through a DSG gearboxes with seven reports. Citadina with two seats is able to achieve a top speed of 160 km\/h and can accelerate from 0 to 100 mph in 12.7 seconds.
