VW recall in service over 380,000 cars

Volkswagen recall in service over 384.000 vehicle selled in China to fix a fault in the DSG transmission. This problem could cost the german group more than 600 million dollars.

Volkswagen Group has initiated a recall action record, nearly 385,000 cars following the return in service, after the German company engineers have discovered, with the help of the Chinese authorities, a problem at the level of the speed.

Affected by the recall campaign in service are versions with DSG automatic transmission with seven gears of several models such as the Golf, Scirocco, Bora, Touran, Passat, Octavia and Audi A3 constructed between 2008 and March 2013.

According to technical analysis, the cars could be affected by a loss of power during acceleration. According to Automotive News, quoting a specialist of the company LMC Automotive recall will cost the Germans from Volkswagen more than 450 million euros, costs per car ranging between 3,000 and 10,000 yuan (350-1200 euros). Components-speed faults will be replaced free of charge.

VW, the biggest european car manufacturer, shipped last year 2.8 million vehicles on the Chinese market, up 25% over the previous year, the production of 2.6 million units in China. Operating profit in 2012 in this country is 3.7 billion euros.

China is the world's largest car market worldwide.
