The fastest electric car series called Detroit Electric SP 01 and made the sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in only 3.7 seconds. The car is based on the Lotus Exige S.
An American company plans to launch the market's fastest electric
production model in the world, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h
of 3.7 seconds. With a total power of 201 horses, the new Detroit Electric SP.
The model will be introduced in series production in 2014 and comes with
a number of notable specifications: carbon fiber, advanced electric
motor, a warranty of 30,000 miles, the equivalent of 50,000 km and a
range of 300 kilometers.
Power will be transmitted through a gearbox with four reports, which will be chosen according to the driver's expectations. Batteries from aeronautical and have a capacity of 37 kWh. Batteries can be charged in less than four hours and autonomy is supported by the regenerative braking system.
The company expects an annual production of 2,500 units per year, the model is designed especially U.S. market. U.S. plans do not stop there, intending of launching new models by the end of next year.
