2 new victoryes for BMW at the Engine of the Year Awards

The BMW Group has extended its portfolio with two new awards prizes to the Engine of The Year Awards, in the category of the 1.6 engine with the SRB which equip Cooper S versions and 2 liter, TwinPower Turbo gasoline with the SRB at BMW.

Since the beginning  of the competition, in 1999, BMW was present in the list of the winners at each edition. In total 60 awards in 15 years, is the highest-rated in the Engine of The Year Awards.

It is the seventh year in a row when the SRB 1.6-litre petrol, 4-cylinder, which equip MINI models is rewarded to the Engine of the Year Awards. The engine comes with a unique combination in the segment between the twin-scroll turbo with a turbine powered separately for every two cylinders, and electronic control system of level of intake valve opening. The result is a propellant with a great response at low revs: 240 Nm between 1,600 and 5,000 revolutions per minute.

The entire range of the MINI use this stern, with excellent results for the dynamics and consumption. Furthermore, the MINI Paceman models and MINI Countryman are available with ALL4 all-wheel drive system.

For the second consecutive year the engine BMW TwinPower Turbo gasoline 2-liter, 4-cylinder, is rewarded with the Engine of the Year Award for the category it belongs to. Twin-scroll turbocharging and BMW'S Valvetronic are complemented by High Precision Direct Injection for a response from low revs for Sportiness and efficiency.

The SRB is available on a wide range of models, impressing the specific combination of dynamic performance BMW and low consumption: BMW 328i, BMW 528i, BMW Z4, BMW X 3 xDrive28i sDrive28i and BMW X 1 xDrive28i.
