Until the beginning of the new generations, BMW has promised fans another half year of production in company of the current M3 Coupe and Convertible. Unfortunately, the promise will not be kept, the entire production of the cars were already exhausted.
To make the transition easier, Friedrich Nitschke, man number one
performance division Bavarian manufacturer has decided that the current
generation to remain in the public eye for another six months while the
new M3 will be the final test.
Despite initial plans, the current BMW M3 Coupe and Convertible proved so popular that all copies have been sold products. So
those who want performance model are forced to wait until the launch of
the new M3 or choose one of the X5M and X6M SUVs, as suggested
Nitschke.
The German official said it will complete the range of engines, while
excluding the possibility of endowing an AWD system on these versions,
the reason that they are not installing a mass xDrive on the car is because it affect reporting on both decks
and direction and would aggravate all.
Some plans already include the Bavarian-the announced three-cylinder
engine with a capacity of 1500 cc, 500 cc each for each cylinder. "Three-cylinder engine is attractive. Is able to develop between 185 and 200 horsepower per liter in a special architecture. And, as you know, we have a capacity of 1.5 liters. "
Therefore, the unit will have at least 300 horsepower, which might provide a supply of engines in the range M.
