One of Opel officials from the
Management Board of the German company announced that the next generation of
Mokka crossover will move the production from South Korea to Europe.
The next generation of Opel Mokka,
the subcompact crossover launched in Europe by the German company last fall,
will be built in Europe, not South Korea, like the current model. This
information comes from Tomas Sedran, a member of the Management Board of Opel,
quoted by the journalists from Automotive News.
Thomas Sedran claims that the
alternation between European factories and South Korean ones will also continue
with the future Opel models, the new generation Antara and Agila being analyzed
for fixing the priorities of production on the Old Continent. Therefore, these
could be built either just in Korea or in both Europe and Korea or only in
Europe.
In other news, it is very likely for
the new Opel Cascada, the compact cabriolet launched by the Germans at Geneva
Motor Show, to be “exported” to China, where it will be sold under Buick logo,
another automotive brand that is part of General Motors portfolio.
