Hyundai, champion at the design category

Hyundai won three awards at the second edition of the automanufacturers competition, organised by the german council of design. The new i30 generation won the awards “Best interior” and “Best exterior” , while the award “Best concept” has been won by  the i-oniq model.

Both the new i30 and the i-oniq were designed at the technical center from Rüsselsheim, Germany, by the Hyundai Motor Europe team.

The two victories of the new i30 generation prove the commitment of Hyundai to the design of their products, in accordance with the needs of the european clients. The exterior look enrolls in the “fluid sculpture” philosophy used by Hyundai, giving the feeling of continuous movement  even when the car is still, offering it a confident attitude, due to its dynamic proportions. The interior of the new i30 represents a significant progres from the previous model, while the use of superior quality materials increases the visual impact.

The i-oniq model debuted at the Geneva Auto Show 2012, presenting the new technology and the new design line from Hyundai. Known as  HED-8, the i-oniq concept car is characterized by a  refined design and muscular look, the visible  premium qualities being found both in exterior and in interior. The futuristic design of the cabin combines the ergonomic driving position, whith a high level of comfort for the passengers.

Allan Rushforth, Senior Vice President and COO of Hyundai Motor Europe declared: ” The Recognition from the german council of design, represents a  confirmation of the transformation of Hyundai in the last years. The stylistic influence of the concept added the emotional component to our products, which also keeps the rational characteristics that contributed to the success of the brand. The new i30 generation represents the best confirmation  of our commitment to offer vehicles that meet the expectations of the european clients, as a part of the Hyunday product strategy.”
