Porsche reach a new fuel economy record

On the occasion of an event for the international press – during which were carried out over 42 tests with the model Panamera S car E-Hybrid, covering a total of over 1,200 miles – model Porsche has consumed, on average, only 4.4 l/100 km. Porsche reach a new fuel economy record

The best result recorded on the racetrack for the first hybrid car with power outlet, luxury class, was 2.8 l/100 km. these results demonstrate that, in daily use, it is very possible to achieve fuel consumption similar to that obtained in the NEDC test that is 3,1 l/100 km. This performance was achieved and four series models Panamera S E-Hybridin each of them being three or four people, with air conditioning system activated and accelerating up to 230 km/h on the motorway section of the route.Test circuit, with a total length of 28,7 km, included a route around the city of Hockenheim and comprised 6.5 km by road, 9.2 miles of country road and 13 km from German-no speed limits here.

The necessary condition for getting these values is the use of lithium-ion battery of 9.4 kWh.

The model can go 36 km relying solely on the electric motor, which is confirmed in practice, registering a value of 0,0 fuel consumption l/100 km and zero emissions. This was achieved not only in the NEDC test on the bench, but also on the streets, even at an average speed of 54 km/h (when the average speed of the NEDC test is only 33 km/h).

The Panamera's Hybrid secure a combined power output of 419 HP (306 kW), accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and has a top speed of 270 km/h New Panamera S Hybrid E will be available starting July 27, 2013.
