The first photos of GLA concept from Mercedes-Benz were published before the official debut at Shanghai Auto Show.
Mercedes-Benz will present at Shanghai Auto Show the GLA concept that anticipates an SUV built on the MFA platform of A-Klasse. The model applies all the classic features of a crossover based on a hatchback, including a curved hood, slanted windshield, large alloy wheels, large front grille and high ground clearance. A series version of GLA is expected to debut in September at Frankfurt Motor Show.
GLA concept has a length of 4.38 meters, a width of 1.97 meters and a height of 1.57 meters. Its wheelbase is 2.69 meters and has MFA platform, just like A-Klasse and CLA. Mercedes-Benz officials confirmed that this model will take A-Klasse engine range, also confirming an AMG version, called GLA 45 AMG, which will offer more than 300 horsepower. There are chances that the new model will be built at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Hungary, located in Kecskemet, which was made from scratch, after an investment of 800 million euros, which created 2,500 jobs in the region and will produce 100,000 units per year.
